Job Description:
Summary: This vital role to the organization serves as the
leader of the tactical quality team, responsible for the day to day
quality activities of the company. While managing the Quality
Technicians, this position oversees the quality control laboratory
activities, ensuring high quality and compliance of the products we
provide to our customers. The role is critical in reinforcing the
cultural commitment to our Quality Core Value. Accountable
Functions and Responsibilities: People, Safety, and Quality Focus ·
Manage Quality Technicians and Quality Laboratories in all CPS
facilities. · Own and execute all Quality Technician training and
advancement of individual careers through leveling and other people
building initiatives. · Assure lab environment is safe for
employees through proper equipment maintenance, adherence to
procedures and methods, and appropriate safety behaviors. · Assure
Quality Technicians are properly trained and follow safety
expectations and rules/policies in all areas of the facility. ·
Partner with plant managers and other functional leaders to drive
the quality mindset culture of the organization. Customer Focus ·
Oversee product release activities and conformance to customer
specifications. · Drive error-free work products (i.e., COAs, data
entry, email correspondence) performed by the individual as well as
the Quality Technicians, particularly on customer-facing documents
and requirements. · Provide, timely, accurate, and meaningful
corrective action responses to customer inquiries and complaints. ·
Support customer audits by providing information and access to
laboratories, including testing methodologies and data as
appropriate. · Maintain Quality Laboratories in acceptable “audit
ready” condition every day. CPS Focused · Provide leadership to the
quality and food safety activities by assuring tasks are completed
to support business goals: -Timely and accurate product releases,
resolving issues as needed to disposition nonconforming product.
-Managing laboratory testing equipment uptime, reproducibility, and
overall reliability. · Assure activities supporting continued
certification of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 are completed. This
includes (but not limited to): calibrations, internal audits,
document control, and change control, as appropriate. · Partner
with Technical Sales/Revenue Team to support new business,
specifically in completing Test Method Development activities. ·
Participate in other cross-functional teams, focused on bringing
performance into alignment with agreed upon metrics while upholding
company Core Values. • Other functions as needed to support the

• Potential other metrics as appropriate Requirements Required
Qualifications: • Non-negotiable approach to safety polices and
behaviors. • Must be a U.S. citizen or able to work in the U.S. for
reasons other than practical training. • 4-year college degree -
preferably in food science, chemistry, chemical engineering,
pharmaceutical, biology, or related field. • Strong focus on
exceeding customer expectations and the execution of relevant tasks
to achieve. • Experience supervising/managing people. • Communicate
effectively to all levels in the company - both written and verbal
correspondence. • Previous quality and/or food safety experience,
particularly in food, pharma, or chemical manufacturing. • Capable
of high level of innovation in problem solving and critical
thinking. • Skilled at interacting on the manufacturing floor. •
Actively seeks to work through obstacles and challenges - does not
get frustrated or overwhelmed. • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Autonomous with self-driven
accountability. • Strong display of CPS Core Values in every action
and decision. • Logical and systematic approach to task completion;
can multi-task and prioritize as needed. • Highly capable of
performing work in alignment with documented instructions and work
flows. Additional (Preferred) Qualifications: • Previous experience
in managing QMS and Food Safety systems. • Experience in contract
manufacturing. • Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing certification. •
Familiar with metric based performance cultures. • Experience with
ERP systems and various other application-based software packages
(HRMS, WMS). Location: • Reading, Pennsylvania – corporate office
and manufacturing campus (Primary) • East Greenville, Pennsylvania
– manufacturing campus (~15-20%) • Other company locations as
required Work Environment (estimated averages): •
Office/Administrative: 40% • Laboratory: 30% • Manufacturing: 30%
Travel Requirements: • Minimal travel required to other company
sites or vendor and customer partners.
