Job Description:
We are seeking an independent and highly motivated Scientist to
support the development of therapeutics for ocular and autoimmune
diseases as a part of our Ophthalmology group. You will be joining
a growing team working in ocular diseases and ocular autoimmunity
and will get the opportunity to engage in innovative research as
part of our discovery efforts to contribute to human health. In
this role, you will be responsible for carrying out in vivo
experiments and a variety of cell-based assays. As a Scientist in
the Ophthalmology group, your typical day might include: Designing,
planning, and/or performing in vivo and in vitro studies using
mouse models and cell lines to investigate and validate therapeutic
targets Working with mice by dosing through various routes (IP, IV,
IVT), interim bleeds, and tissue collection and processing
Isolating cells from mouse and human tissues for further functional
and phenotypic characterization Running ELISA/MSD/Luminex and
RT-PCR using mouse/human serum/tissue Developing new methods or
technologies and troubleshoot experiments Analyzing data and
communicating findings to peers and management at various group and
cross-functional meetings Writing protocols and study reports as
well as producing and maintaining accurate electronic records This

considered for this role, you must have a BS/MS degree in Biology,
Cell Biology, Immunology, or related fields with at least 6 years
of relevant experience working in a laboratory setting. Must have
extensive experience working in-vivo in rodents, including proper
handling and care of mice and the collection of blood and tissue
samples. Expertise with mouse models of inflammatory/autoimmune
diseases is a plus. Molecular/cellular biology techniques including
ELISA, rtPCR, flow cytometry, etc. is required. Expertise in
immunology or ophthalmology fields strongly preferred. A strong
emphasis on creativity and problem solving will be required. Does
