25%Clearance Required:NoneWhat You Will Do: Senior Consultants are
responsible both for contributing to project execution and for
supporting initiatives designed to promote company values and
interconnectedness. Senior Consultants work closely with senior
project staff to develop high-quality content for client-facing and
internal deliverables. Senior Consultants are expected to work on
1-3 concurrent projects and to have regular interactions with
clients. As part of the US Market Access/Reimbursement team, you
will work on creating and implementing US payer and access
strategies for pharmaceutical clients. This primarily involves
working with senior staff to execute projects and completing
research and development of client deliverables. The Life Sciences
practice encourages career development and hiring for the long
term. Senior Consultants follow a clearly defined career path and
continue to deepen their knowledge in the field of healthcare and
the practice of consulting. As Senior Consultants hone their
project management skills and ability to manage multiple work
streams, they progress to the position of Managing Consultant. Our
team provides commercialization strategy and reimbursement services
to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics
companies. Our client services range from pre-commercialization
marketing strategies to working with managed care organizations to
develop policies affecting the use and payment of our clients'
novel therapies or diagnostics Common project types include:
- Assessing coverage landscapes and payer management across Part
B and Part D products
- Analyzing analog product environments and competitive
landscapes via secondary research
- Building payer and provider value propositions and conducting
targeted message testing
- Conducting qualitative research with payers and providers to
highlight potential barriers to access and inform mitigation and
engagement strategies
- Developing pricing and reimbursement strategies for new product
launches, including willingness to pay studies and provider
economics research
- Assessing coding and payment analyses across varied payer
channels
- Conducting market sizing, segmentation, and penetration
analyses across various data sets
- Engaging executive level audience to deliver actionable
insights and recommendations Specific responsibilities include, but
are not limited to: conducting secondary research to fully
understand background and contextual information needed to support
project design and execution; analyzing information (scientific,
clinical, and financial) to discern the business implications of
new technologies and emerging trends; conducting primary research
interviews with payers, clinicians/thought leaders, and executives
in relevant fields to answer outstanding strategic questions; and
preparing and presenting written reports to Guidehouse management
and clients. Travel is project-dependent, but initially averages
25%. What You Will Need:
- BA/BS degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering,
Healthcare
- Qualified candidates must be able to understand and clearly
communicate the clinical and business implications of technically
complex products and services.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and a deep
interest in healthcare with an eye towards market access and
reimbursement. We seek candidates with strong verbal and written
communication skills.
- Candidates should be strong team players, take initiative, and
think strategically and creatively. What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Graduate level degree in business or other health-related
fields (e.g., MBA, MPH, MS, PhD)
- An MBA/MS/MPH with prior work experience in the healthcare
industry; a PhD in a science-related field (experience in market
access, reimbursement, pricing, and/or health economics is
preferred The annual salary range for this position is
$86,100.00-$172,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide
range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets,
experience and training, security clearances, licensure and
certifications, and other business and organizational needs.What We
