Responsibilities: SUMMARY: This position has the responsibility to
comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation
to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensures that all policies,
procedures and activities, related to food safety & quality, are
followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce
product and process variability. The maintenance lead position is
responsible for directing maintenance mechanic responsibilities on
a day-to-day basis. This position has a responsibility to ensure
that both preventive and troubleshooting maintenance are completed
to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity. DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy
workplace for everyone. Adheres to all safety policies/procedures
and incorporates safety and health in all job's duties/tasks
- Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP
guidelines, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product
quality is maintained. Reports any conditions or practices that may
adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to
management immediately
- Attends and actively participates in safety
meetings/trainings
- Ensures regulatory compliance at all times
- Coordinate and direct maintenance crew daily responsibilities
and assign work as needed/required
- Monitor line efficiency and as needed perform/direct
maintenance activities related to sustaining/improving
productivity
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed
- Understand operations of building and ground maintenance
- Direct and assist maintenance crew with respect to any work on
the utility systems such as refrigeration, air supply, etc
- Read and understand blueprints
- Adhere to weekly/monthly budget constraints
- Train new employees
- Operate SAP computer system as well as other basic computer
programs
- Lead by example
- Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or
equivalent years of experience.
- Ability to operate industrial equipment including pallet jacks
and forklifts
- Experience managing and leading people
- Must be well organized, able to plan and prioritize activities,
and make decisions related to product quality
- Basic electrical experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to
speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of
the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety
of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables. LICENSES,
CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Black Seal License
- Blue Seal License
- Power Industrial Truck Operator's License preferred PREFERRED
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
preferred
- SAP knowledge preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear
plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Frequent periods of sitting, standing and walking
- Exposure to VDT screens, fumes and dust
- Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity
- Manufacturing plant is a large, open floor, some areas have
