IMPORT SPECIALIST
International Logistics Company
seeking an experienced Import Specialist

• 
  Location:. Elizabeth, NJ
  Work Hours:. 8:00am to 5:00pm (Overtime may be required)
  Pay: $ will commensurate with experience
  Job Type: Temp - hire
  Company: Freight Forwarder
  
  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  
• Handle all aspects of Import shipments according to customer SOP.
  
• Conduct research and route planning, taking into consideration the kind of cargo being transported, the distance involved and any specific customer requirements with regards to the final delivery time.
  
• Enter and process all documents relevant to assigned shipments.
  
• Handle packing, insurance, customs documentation and other regulatory requirements, especially for freight moving across national borders.
  
• Arrange for the timely pick-up of freight and organize transportation between intermediate destinations, i.e. port facilities, cargo terminals and railway yards
  
• Monitoring shipments and ensuring timely delivery.
  
• Provide pricing support to customers, agents and sales staff
  
• Audit and approve vendor payments.
  
• Invoice shipments and control payment under client credit terms.
  
  JOB REQUIREMENTS
  
• Min. 2 years' exp. freight forwarding experience (Import Operations)
  
• Strong understanding of Ocean Importation procedures
  
• PC Proficient; MS Excel (able to produce a spreadsheet report)
  
• Able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company background checks.
