Job Description:
The Chubb Global Marketing, Communications and Investor
Relations Team is searching for a Senior Writer/Editor who will
play a key role in the creation and development of organic
strategic content and thought leadership, focused on financial
services and insurance topics. This role is based at our 550
Madison Avenue, NYC office. The Opportunity As a member of the
Chubb Global Marketing, Communications and Investor Relations Team,
and reporting to the SVP and Global Head, Strategic Content &
Insights Center of Excellence (CoE), the Senior Writer/Editor will
create and develop organic strategic content and thought leadership
– including reports, white papers, research-based articles and
other short-form content. This strategic content, which will skew
heavily toward financial services and insurance topics, will be
published across the spectrum of Chubb marketing and communications
channels, including chubb.com, social media, earned media,
direct-to-clients and intermediaries. In addition to writing
original strategic content, the Senior Writer/Editor will also play
an important role in copyediting the work of other internal
contributors and external freelance writers. Our ideal candidate is
an inquisitive storyteller with exceptional writing, editing and
research skills who is also an agile multi-tasker. They will need
to be able to switch gears quickly between varieties of B2B, B2C
and B2B2C subject matter while navigating regional priorities,
cultural differences and content formats with ease and proficiency.
Beyond core insurance and financial services topics, research and
writing/editing will cover a broad spectrum of subject matter
related to industries Chubb supports, as well as technical,
scientific, engineering-oriented material. H/she will have an
instinct for journalism, possess newsroom DNA, display high-impact
storytelling skills and pivot quickly in environment where
priorities can change quickly. They will be at ease understanding
and transforming complex financial and business subject matter from
around the world, including data and analytics, and turning it into
informative, easy-to-digest and timely points of view for content
briefs with a thematic edge (e.g. ESG, Sustainability, Cyber,
Artificial Intelligence, Supply Chains) for our diverse customer
segments. They will also need to be at ease in navigating a
highly-matrixed global organization, and the requisite
inter-team(s) collaboration, content reviews and approvals. The
ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience with developing
content across a variety of formats for omnichannel publishing.
H/She will additionally be skilled at creating interview guides
that can be used for story mining short- and long-form text
content, video and podcast development. The ideal candidate will
also possess deep technical expertise and experience with SEO,
best-practices content publishing technologies, and the emerging
technologies and practices taking shape in AI and the cloud.
Responsibilities Creates original content and determines when and
how to re-surface prior work during relevant news cycles. Helps the
Strategic Content & Insights Center of Excellence team craft and
refine ideas, cultivate sources, and report and write articles on a
regular basis. Collaborates closely with internal contributors and
external writers and is responsible for curating fresh, relevant
and informative content. Stays informed with breaking news and the
general news cycle, particularly as stories relate to insurance and
Chubb’s products and services; regularly generates article ideas
rooted in this engagement with news sources. Stays familiar with
and continually upgrades skills related to mission-critical
publishing and data/analytics tools, as well as emerging
capabilities, including Google Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager,
strategic SEO, AIO, scalable cloud document management,
collaboration tools (e.g., Frontify, SharePoint), smart automation
and immersive content practices. Collaborates closely with Global
MarComms Centers of Excellence and regional marketing teams to
ensure seamless synchronization of creative, graphic and data
assets; social media; and overall digital production. Brainstorms
new stories, series, concepts, themes and formats as needed.
Manages and facilitates necessary end-to-end production and
publishing governance processes, e.g., business sponsor reviews,
legal approvals, etc. Capabilities: Track record of notable
successes – portfolio of written and published pieces required.
Impeccable written, verbal and influencer communications skills.
Strong editorial background and proofreading skills. Comfortable
with frequent cross-functional and senior management contact. Able
to exert indirect authority to influence and deliver results. Agile
thinking and behaviors to adapt to changes in a fluid environment.
Understanding of content channel strategies across lines of
business. Highly disciplined and structured, with a process
management mindset, and at the same time a creative and driven
leader capable of developing and executing a strategic vision and
plan for the content discipline. Able to work across a highly
matrixed, global and culturally diverse organization; able to drive
positive change and translate a vision into actionable,
quantitative results; able to set clear and measurable performance
objectives. Possesses effective interpersonal skills including the
necessary stature, poise and presence to quickly develop
credibility and establish solid partnerships inside and outside the
company. Education and Experience: Minimum 5 years of writing and
editing strategic content in a newsroom and/or corporate
environment, preferably in financial services with a premium placed
on insurance industry experience; experience as a top-tier
journalist highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree required, with a
major in communications or journalism; MBA or an advanced degree in
a science or technical field preferred. The pay range for the role
is $105,900 to $180,100. T he specific offer will depend on an
applicant’s skills and other factors. The person in this role may
also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive

applicable geographic differential for the location in which the
