POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Substance Abuse Counselor, referred to as a co-occurring specialist at Bridgeway, working for Bridgeway's PACT program, you will serve people with co-occurring disorders in the community as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, all working together to help adults with mental illness learn the tools to become and remain stable and healthy. PACT: Program of Assertive Community Treatment Roles and Responsibilities of the Substance Abuse CounselorProvide stage-wise substance use treatment focusing on identification of substance use effects and patterns, integrating evidence-based Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) model which includes use of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, and teaching strategiesConduct relapse prevention planning as well as assistance with attending recovery or self-help meetingsMake appropriate referrals/linkages to addiction services beyond the scope of PACTProvide technical assistance and education to members of the team in substance use and co-occurring disorders. Develops substance use and co-occurring disorders materials and strategies for individual and group interventions, in conjunction with the team REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in behavioral health fieldCADC/LCADC required in accordance with the Alcohol and Drug Licensing and Certification Act, N.J.S.A. 45:2D-a et seq.
