Site Name: USA - New Jersey - Warren Posted Date: Dec 23 2021 The Marketing Activation Solutions Team works with Marketing, Customer Strategy & Promotion, Customer Teams and other GSK cross functional partners to lead the design development and provide strategic, innovative thinking and expertise around creative direction and design solutions. This team is embedded into the Marketing Teams to drive overall creative timelines and ensure that all design goals are met and done with creative effectiveness and operational efficiency. This requires understanding all of the various Vendors including CAST that can be leveraged to meet overall team design and creative needs. This team applies brand, promotional, shopper, retailer and other consumer insights to deliver impactful design solutions across a variety of promotional materials including displays, promotional packaging, shelf signage, trade ads and other national/customer specific promotional programs (FSIs, direct mail, contests, sweepstakes, refunds & rebates) This position will oversee all departmental creative projects and champion graphic innovation and execution excellence. The Team Lead is responsible to provide leadership, identify strategies and objectives for the department. They will prioritize all departmental projects, manage the creative process and monitor the team structure to ensure that all business units are supported and projects are delivered on time. They will also manage the financial process regarding asset creation and production and ensure the team is managing to budget and efficiencies. This Team Lead will also be responsible for ongoing negotiation with Marketing Activation vendors (ie. Quotient, Neptune, Vlassis, etc) to ensure that GSK is gaining economies of scale across the full portfolio. The Team Lead will partner with procurement on managing these relationships and contracts and be responsible for sharing any of these updates across the Marketing Team. The Team Lead will manage all of the Shopper Engagement Team creative needs and timelines as well as the budget and in addition they will be responsible for direct management and development of 5 direct reports. They will oversee department budget.

  • Oversee and manage Marketing Activation Solutions Team and the vision / goals for this team. Engage, inform and influence both internal and external customers to support department goals & objectives.
  • Be the lead on establishing consistent processes across the team as well as leading the integration with CAST and champion the appropriate processes and vendor selection / management (working with Procurement) when production needs are not met by CAST.
  • Lead the Creative process development for all Shopper creative asset process development for both Category and Scale solutions. Manage timelines across customers, understand their needs and work with both Shopper Agency and CAST to ensure timelines are met.
  • Manage Scale FSI dates and align Brands to these key tentpole events as well as Scale Budget
  • Manage Shopper Vendors and work with procurement to maximize negotiation and value adds for GSK as well as educate Marketing org on vendors offerings / updates. Create a "catalog" for Marketing so all vendors / rate cards are readily available.
  • Manage the Vendor Budgets for the Shopper Team from both a scale / category / and vendor standpoint. Provide monthly reconciliations vs. budget (Customer Teams will manage their Shopper Budgets). Open POs / track POs.
  • Assist in managing overall Planning timelines and deliverables across the team. Assist in bringing overall Shopper Plans together to share with the Marketing / Brand Teams. Assist in preparation for key Check-In meetings throughout the annual planning cycle.
  • Manage the Website development / upgrades for the Scale website including coordinating timelines with Shopper Agency and CAST for production. Manage the creative development timeline and e-mail blast / projects for continuing to build 1P data from our scale site and leverage across our brands / categories.
  • Serve as the key contact for the Display Lead to ensure we are continually striving to improve process and shorten lead times on displays for our customers as well as gain efficiency's in the process.
  • Act as primary point of contact for all design solution matters to ensure that team is fully engaged and represented in all in store communication initiates and design projects and serve on cross functional teams as new proposals for process improvements are made Proactively provide guidance and best practices to ensure the US Market remains agile in its creative development process.
  • Manage workloads, set priorities for the team. Understand total team workloads and that they are being managed across CAST and other vendors. Always be looking for more effective / efficient ways to provide design solutions in partnership with EDGE. Provide design solution support as needed. Provide monthly recaps on work completed across the team.
  • Ensure that all designs are developed to meet vendor technical specifications, budget and timeline requirements.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all GSK processes (CCAT/metastorm/procurement etc.) and team is fully trained and complying with GSK processes
  • Champion high performance, challenge conventional thinking & stay abreast of industry trends and technology
  • Manage visual library for all GSK Scale / Shopper creative assets. Partner with marketing and cross functional teams to provide education for all new team members regarding Marketing Activation Solutions, our workflow and touch points across the organization. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: BA/BS degree preferred
    • 10+ years of design solution experience (agency, CPG, POP display, printing or related graphic design role.)
    • Leadership and vendor management experience
    • Experience in all aspects of package design development, merchandising principles, and marketing communications.
    • Experience in Project Management
    • Budget Management experience and Financial Acumen
    • Experience with MS Project, Office, Excel, Word. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Knowledge of CPG industry and retailer requirements.
      • Demonstrated ability of leading teams to reach goals.
      • Ability to manage multiple vendors and stakeholders.
      • Able to map out processes, education, and implement within an organization.
      • Experience with or demonstrated ability to mentor team and build vision
      • Proven competency in strategic thinking and relationship management. Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
      • Ability to manage budgets, understand where opportunity for efficiency may exist and help drive organizational improvements to meet fiscal goals.
      • Ability to handle multiple projects, act decisively and drive for business results.
