Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining systems and equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedule; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
• Ability to call Vendors, Hotline Support when required.
• Experience in troubleshooting system breakdowns and repairs
• Ability to track and report on daily activity


Controls:
Troubleshoot and take corrective action on faulted:
• VFD’s, motors, Device net networks, Ethernet networks, PLC components, power supplies,
• Use RSLogix5000 to read I/O status and PLC fault codes
Troubleshoot, replace and align sensors including photo eyes and proximity switches using:
• Allen-Bradley ControlLogix5000 Hardware
• Allen-Bradley ControlLogix5000 Ladder Logic Programming
• RS view (Factory Talk) HMI
• Device Net
• Ethernet
• Allen-Bradley Powerflex40 VFD’s
• Safety Orientation with 480V 3 Phase Power
• Reading Control System Diagrams and Schematics
• Material Handling Equipment

 

Electrical:
• Reading controls and drive system schematics using industrial PLC’s (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
• Reviewing PLC code status, sensor reading indicators, input and output cards, Ethernet and Remote-I/O communication status, etc. for troubleshooting.
• Tracing potentials, shielding, signals through circuits.
• Safety in accessing/operating heavy automated machinery as well as rigging, climbing, and working with electrical and controls circuits.

 

Mechanical:
• Perform Preventive Maintenance program on industrial grade automated machinery.
• Assembly, disassembly of precision machinery.
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Safety in accessing/operating heavy automated machinery as well as rigging, climbing, and working with high voltage and controls circuits.
• Experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).
• Experience with conveyors and compressors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
• Experience with gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts).
• Experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting).
• Experience with pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).
• Experience with pneumatics/air compression (e.g., valves, cylinders, etc.).
• Experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
• Experience with pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).
• Experience with SERVO (e.g., intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.).
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
• Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Experience working in team-based environments (working together with others).

 

Performance Standard
• Ability to perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs
• Proven and demonstrated technical competencies in relation to automated systems
• Ability to diagnose failures, disassemble, repair and reassembling equipment, hydraulic systems electrical systems applied to VFDs and PLCs
• Ability to keep track of and report on daily activity work orders, completed preventative maintenance tasks


Educational Requirements
High School or GED
Certifications or degree

 

Training and/or Experience
Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical & electrical systems such as VFDs, servo motors, encoders and PLC
Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience with preventative maintenance (CMMS)

 

Autonomy/Accountability

Ability to collaborate with others. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in automation

 

Impact/Scope
Ability to manage maintenance through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

 

Liaisons
Reports directly to Management Personnel. Must have ability to communicate with peers within the organization and vendors for outside support

 

Physical Requirements
Position requires the ability to stand, walking around facility, lifting or carrying packages up to 50lbs, utilizing fine dexterity, reaching, crawling and twisting to inspect and repair equipment.

 

Mental Requirements
Position requires the ability to use computer and software’s such as CMMS, Shiraz, SCADA, Knapp service client, Firefly, Savanah, etc.
