  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, directly or via management advice.
  • Manage College Hiring and Intern Programs, including career fairs, interviews, and hiring to meet goals.
  • Participate in recruitment by discussing staffing needs, interviewing candidates, and advising management.
  • Attend staffing meetings to ensure workforce planning data is current.
  • Advise managers on wages and salaries for the Salary Planning Process.
  • Champion the annual performance appraisal process for completion.
  • Organize and conduct new hire orientations.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather lessons learned.
  • Coordinate and participate in the annual Succession Planning process.
  • Contribute to HR strategic initiatives at business unit and corporate levels.
  • Stay informed about current employment laws.QualificationsExperience/Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • 5-8 years HR experience, or a Master's in HR with 2 years' experience.
  • Or 7+ years HR experience, or a similar combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred but not required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • HR capacity, problem solving, project management, communication, ethics, time management.
    • Effective communication and rapport-building skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS software.Salary depends on education, experience, skills, and market data. For New York, NY, the range is $130,000 - $180,000 plus benefits and retirement. Gilbane offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, welfare, profit-sharing, and 401(k).
