Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical Intensive Care Unit Location: Bronx, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,446 per week Shift Information: 3 days Contract Duration: 8 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical ICU Duration: 4 weeks Shift: 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours Experience: Two (2) years of critical care experience, Two (2) years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience, Two (2) years of conscious sedation experience License: Valid RN license Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS Must-Have: - Two years of critical care experience - Two years of IV insertion and phlebotomy skills - Two years of conscious sedation experience Description: The role involves managing patients in a medical ICU setting. The RN to patient ratio is 1:4, with patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics. Responsibilities include monitoring patients with medical equipment such as catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors. The nurse will care for patients transitioning out of the ICU, requiring more attention than those in a general medical-surgical unit. Frequent patient assessments and proper escalation of any changes in medical conditions are essential. The RN will also respond to cardiac arrest and rapid response codes.
