Whether you are looking to hone your craft or pick up new skills and specialties, The Falcon Group is a team to support your professional and personal growth.Job SummaryImmediate opening for a Project Manager with a Mechanical Engineering background in HVAC design, and Energy management in the fast-growing MEP and Energy Department in a multidisciplinary, multi-state engineering firm. Immediate opening at our Warren, NJ or Jersey City, NJ offices with work assignments within the immediate state and, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Metro area. - Frequent travel to our New York City office and occasional travel to our offices in Philadelphia and Rockville, Maryland will be required to support mechanical related projects. - This role requires an experienced person with in-depth knowledge of building Mechanical and Electrical systems, including applicable building codes and industry standards. - Self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision. - Future growth opportunities, throughout department and regional offices.Responsibilities and Duties The Project Manager will report to the MEP Department. - Daily tasks will include design of mechanical HVAC systems, conducting field surveys, energy audits, system assessments and reports, creation of design and construction documents with the assistance of the CAD department, schematics, HVAC equipment selections, air conditioning and heating load calculations, system riser diagrams, and specification documents.

Visiting project sites to analyze and document existing mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical conditions.Conduct Energy Audits of Commercial and Multi-Family Buildings Coordinate Energy Benchmarking of Commercial and Multi-Family Buildings Mechanical HVAC equipment selections and system design. Air conditioning and heating load calculations.Preparation of design and construction documents.Project construction administration and observation services.Cost estimate preparation.Specification writing.Technical report writing.Proposal writing.Client interaction.Qualifications:Education
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.Work Experience
10 years' minimum experience in MEP consulting and design engineering services environment or minimum five years' consulting experience.Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred. Experience with EPA Portfolio Manager and Building Energy Benchmarking Preferred. Engineering-in-Training, a plus!
OSHA 10-hour certified preferred.Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted valid Driver's License. Skills:
Understanding of building architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Familiarity with building codes - IBC, IMC, IECC, IFGC, IPC, NFPA, ASHRAE 90.1, and NEC.Experience performing computer generated HVAC load calculations using Carrier HAP or equivalent. Commercial and Residential Project Experience.Ability to perform calculations, equipment selections, equipment specifications, system design, system layout.In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD (version 2014 or better), MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.Excellent verbal and writing skills.Ability to interact with clients and contractors.Ability to interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues. Ability to work in the field and to travel outside local areas as workload and projects require. Ability to manage time and within project budgets. Ability to: Lift/ Carry up to 40 lbs. (ladders, hammers, harness equipment, etc.). Safely work at heights.
