Achieve financial objectives by analyzing variances, benefit budgets, and reviewing expenditures. Participate with others in strategic developments primarily involving workers compensation, benefits renewal, and wellness programs. Health Benefits--- Involved in the development of benefit programs while reviewing employee requirements to design appropriate benefits for the organization--- Support's management decision making through analyzing benefit trends, claims data and projecting future costs--- Study benefit options and proposals while obtaining advice from benefit consultants--- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforce adherence to requirements and effectively communicate to management --- Provide resources for benefit related questions and problems --- Offer guidance on benefit self-service enrollments for new hires and during annual enrollment--- Process terminations in ADP/carrier sites and conduct a benefits exit interview (includes deceased employees - life insurance claim forms) --- Manage all carrier sites with enrollment/ terminations and maintain a working relationship with benefit providers.--- Ensure all benefit classifications are up to date and accurate for both union and non-union employees--- Reconcile benefit accounts by approving billing statements, generating the necessary back up, and submitting to accounting for timely processing.--- Provide benefit education for employees and dependents through the preparation of annual meetings, individual and virtual meetings, and conference calls--- Update plan designs in the appropriate systems when required ADP, COBRA, FSA, HSA)--- Coordinate and set up seminars (health education, credit reports, counseling, etc.)--- Conduct benefit orientations for new hires and transfers as well as benefit exit interviews--- Assist employees with benefit related correspondence as it relates to retirement (proof of coverage, Social security, Medicare)Workers Compensation--- Review injury investigation reports for full completion by both managers and employees before reporting--- Report claims to worker's compensation carriers and wage statement for lost time claims--- Update HRB with leave status information, OSHA on recordable cases, and generate an updated leave of absence report on a weekly basis to the WC team. --- Follow up with employee, provider and WC insurance carrier to ensure aggressive treatment is in practice to return employee back to full duty--- Submit HPE authorizations to providers and periodic review to ensure evaluation is in sync with job descriptions.--- Work with safety compliance director, injury reporting team, and providers to develop best practices for handling workers compensation fraudDisability--- Schedule a meeting with employees to discuss their need to take leave--- Administer FMLA and disability paperwork for employees to complete --- Ensure that paperwork is received in a timely fashion and that certification is fully completed by provider to help determine if employee qualifies for leave under FMLA--- Complete disability application when necessary and communicate information to payroll so that sick benefits/ extended leave benefits are processed for eligible employees--- Follow up with employee periodically to request recertification, benefit payments, and updates for disability insurance carrier to avoid benefit interruption--- Assist employees with processing a Long Term disability claim when disability is to exceed 6 months.--- Maintain a tracking system for employees on consecutive and intermittent leaveWellness--- Design, direct, and implement approved wellness programs or initiatives to help improve the health of employees within the organization. Monitor outcomes and stay within allowable budget.--- Ensure accurate and timely production of program correspondence, information, and presentation materials.--- Execute and schedule wellness initiatives, fairs, and programs to all of our employees within a reasonable budget (wellness fair, flu vaccinations, smoking cessation, walker's competition, etc.)--- Work with benefit advisors to screen programs to ensure they meet EEO and ADA regulations as well as developments of incentives--- Assist in identifying opportunities including partnerships, funding, and donations (PlumBenefits, MTM, etc.)ACA and Compliance--- Assure company compliance with provisions of Erisa and 5500 filings.--- Prepare reports and ensure information is accurate in HRB for annual filings with federal and state agencies--- Educate our employees on resources available and communicate legal updates, summary of benefits coverage, & Medicare credible coverage communication--- Involved with PPACA updates and trainings to make certain company is being proactive on current and future health care reform changes--- Get accurate visibility into the average hours worked by full and part-time employees, including look back and stability periods--- Send notifications for benefits eligibility and enrollment--- Work with ADP on production and filing of the 1094-C and 1095-C formsBachelor's degree or Equivalent Experience Preferably in HRPreferred: SHRM-CP or PHR Certifications7-10 years of HR Benefits ExperienceExperience with ADP SystemKnowledge of benefits, policies/procedures, and HR LawsExcellent computer skillsProficient in Word and ExcelMust be proactive, good communication and follow-up skills, a team player, work independently, investigation and negotiation skillsMust be able to pay attention to detail, be a good listener, work independently, proactive, make sound judgement on problemsTime management is very important as well as to keep all information confidentialThe Company is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and visitors.
