For more on Teva, check us out at or Job Description Head of Engineering for NJ sites, responsible for capital and expense project delivery encompassing GMP facilities, equipment, utilities and lean six sigma improvement initiatives. Provides oversight and direction for all site maintenance, calibration and equipment qualification program activities. Essential Duties / Functions * Provide leadership to project engineering, maintenance/calibration, equipment qualification and continuous improvement teams. * Develop and retain talent within the engineering and maintenance department. * Ensure all facilities and production equipment meet regulatory requirements (cGMPs, safety, and environmental) * Develop and implement capital project and department expense budgets. Ensure capital project spending within 10% of budget. * Ensure delivery of projects according to established timelines and cost objectives. * Ensure compliant and effective Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) and calibration systems for all work order management. * Oversee efficient, reliable, cost effective use and delivery of energy to support operations. * Direct continuous improvement projects following DMAIC approach and utilizing LSS methods including Value Stream Mapping, FMEA, 5S and DOE. * Specify and assess new automation and process control technologies to integrate and align plant floor operations with business systems. * Provide plant performance metrics and implement real time OEE for critical equipment. Qualifications Education Required: * Bachelors of Science Preferred: MS degree in Engineering preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of graduate degree. Experience Required: * Minimum of 10 years of experience in solid dose sector of pharmaceutical industry in capital project management, plant engineering & maintenance. * Instrumentation and Controls (Controls Engineering, MES Support, Infrastructure and Plant Networks, and Calibration) * Utilities and HVAC Operation and Maintenance * Buildings and Grounds Maintenance * Maintenance and Calibration Management Systems Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications required Required: * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. * Prior hands-on experience managing capital projects in a GMP environment. * Tacit understanding of various Solid Oral Dose Equipment and Utilities * cGMPs and EHS regulations * Proven ability to manage details, while focusing on broader objectives. Preferred: * Experience with management of union labor.
