Job Description:

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Automation and Monitoring Engineer for a contract to hire position with a reinsurance firm located in Warren, NJ. This role is primarily remote, with a preference for a candidate located in a commutable distance to Warren, NJ to attend occasional team meetings.

Summary:
The Network Monitoring and Automation Engineer will work directly within the Network team to streamline existing processes and design new workflows via network automation, as well as configure and maintain robust network monitoring solutions. The Network Monitoring and Automation Engineer will build and maintain automation scripts for network configuration and management to support network operations and project activities. Their core function is to transform previously manual onboarding, configuration, provisioning, and software management processes to simplify and scale network operations and greatly minimize configuration errors.

Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Manage existing SolarWinds platform including NCM, Orion, NPM, and IPAM
  
• Configure and maintain network alerts, failover workflows and SNMP traps
  
• Leverage scripting languages and SolarWinds NCM scripting platform to automate network tasks and change deployments
  
• Ability to create high quality diagrams and network documentation for network design, implementation, and support processes
  
• Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required
  
• Make recommendations for process optimizations and improvements
  
  Basic Qualifications:
  
  
  • 
    
  • 4+ Years' experience in network engineering or network-centric software development
    
  • 4+ Years' experience with scripting languages, deployment orchestration, and version control (Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
    
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and understanding network device configuration for Cisco switching, core, and wireless platforms
    
  • Experience with SolarWinds NCM automation platform
    
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting alerts, SNMP traps and monitoring in SolarWinds NCM and Orion
    
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy required
    
  • Proficient verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate in the English language required

    • Check Point API experience
      
    • Palo Alto automation experience
      
    • SOAR Platform experience (XSOAR, Siemplify)
      
    • Thousand Eyes network monitoring platform
      
    • Cisco DNA Center automation
      
    • Experience with Ansible or other network automation platforms
      
    • Cisco Certifications strongly preferred
      
      The hourly pay rate range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00
