Job Description Job Description Lower School Associate Teacher Starting School Year 2026-2027 The Foote School seeks a talented, energetic individual to join its faculty as a full-time Lower School Associate Teacher. The Foote School is an independent K–9 all-gender day school in New Haven, Connecticut. We believe children learn best when meaningful challenge is balanced with time to be children, so our days combine experiential learning, thoughtful inquiry, and space to grow. Job Responsibilities: • Co-plan and present lessons. • Lead small literacy and math groups. • Prepare and gather materials for lessons and projects. • Correct student work. • Assist with writing and proofreading student reports. • Supervise recess and drop off/pick up. • Supervise children in the After School Program (ASP). Qualification: • Bachelor’s Degree required. • Experience working with elementary-aged children. • A passion for learning. • Strong personal and interpersonal skills. Associate teachers may be asked to assume classroom responsibility in case of illness or the absence of the Head Teacher.
