Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Port Washington, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and has a strong background in accounting, particularly within the distribution or manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the organization’s financial processes. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Oversee general ledger activities, including maintaining account accuracy and resolving discrepancies. • Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting needs. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial statements and actuals. • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and balances. • Utilize SAP and BlackLine systems to streamline accounting operations and reporting. • Collaborate with teams to improve accounting processes and maintain compliance. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. • At least 7 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail. • Proven expertise in the distribution or manufacturing industry. • Proficiency in financial systems, including SAP and BlackLine. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations. • Ability to conduct bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently. • Background in public accounting is a plus, with interest in transitioning to private accounting.
