Secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts; resolving discrepancies.
Deposits mailed checks into bank accounts
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions form lock box and local deposits.
Ensure reconciliation of funds received and funds posted.
Updates receivables by applying funds to customer accounts.
Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
Coordinates collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; contact with collections department.
Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; verifying totals; preparing report.
Balance monthly bank reporting
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Other duties as requested
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college level accounting classes or Accounting Degree preferred.
4-6 years of accounts receivable and general accounting experience required.
Basic computer skills and word processing.
Good mathematical background
Some experience with spreadsheets
Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently
Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers
Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic
Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment
Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours
Ability to use calculator for a variety of accounting functions
Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment
Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
