Job Description:
Job Summary:
As a member of the Finance organization, this role will work with
the team to ensure the integrity of accounting information by
recording, verifying, consolidating, and analyzing transactions.
This is a newly established position with broad finance
responsibilities including the financial closing process,
purchasing and payables process, payroll process, financial
reporting process, SOX compliance, and finance projects.
Responsibilities:
* Actively participate and lead key activities in the month-end,
quarterly, and annual financial close processes with an emphasis in
meeting all deadlines
* Prepare monthly account reconciliations, roll forwards,
analytical procedures, and maintain supporting documentation. Work
with FP&A on monthly accruals and analysis
* Assist with completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual
financial reports and external audit
* Ensure SOX compliance including formation of internal controls,
policies/procedures, documentation and testing of key controls.
* Develop a detailed understanding of business processes and
connect them with financial results
* Create and maintain efficient process flows for operational
activities and create documentation/reference guides
* Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease
process times, streamline work processes, work collaboratively with
the business, and leverage technology
* Assist with various special projects including finance systems,
technologies, and business process improvements including the
design, testing and implementation of new technology and other
accounting enhancements/tools as needed
* Build strong business relationships through regular meetings and
close collaboration
Qualifications:
3-4 years of finance/accounting experience with at least 2 years in
a large public accounting firm
* Strong accounting and financial controls experience
* Solid attention to details with capability to multi-task and meet
tight deadlines
* Highly motivated, committed to drive change, continually improves
processes, and delivers results
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and
partnering skills
* Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry a plus
* S. or MS degree in Accounting or Finance
* CPA preferred
